Losing Alice is a thrilling new series from Israel that made its debut on AppleTV+ this past Friday to great reviews. The show uses flashbacks and flashforwards to take audiences through a complex narrative that includes going through the mind of the protagonist.
The show, inspired by Faust’s tale, focuses on Alice (played by Ayelet Zurer), a 48-year-old female film director, who feels irrelevant since raising her family. Alice has a brief encounter with a younger screenwriter, Sophie (played by Lihi Kornowski), and that’s where this twisted adventure truly begins.
AwardsWatch contributor Dewey Singleton spoke to Zurer, Kornowski, Gal Toren and creator Sigal Avin of Losing Alice about what inspired the creation of the series and the overall eerie tone of the show.
Losing Alice premiered on Apple TV+ Friday, January 22.
