Jay Roach to Direct ‘Fire and Fury’ TV Adaptation
No stranger to political theater, director Jay Roach (Game Change) will helm the television adaptation of Michael Wolff’s best-selling book Fire and Fury, which takes direct aim at President Trump and his administration as its been rocked by upheaval and scandal.
Roach won four Emmys for directing and producing Game Change and Recount for HBO. He was previously attached to a second Game Change, this one about the 2016 presidential election, but it was shelved by HBO after one of the writers of the book it was to be based on, Mark Halperin, was accused of sexual misconduct.
Fire and Fury will be executive produced by Roach, Wolff, John Lyons (HBO’s The Young Pope) and BBC executive Michael Jackson for Endeavor Content. No network is attached yet.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported Roach’s involvement.
