Listen to a track from Nicholas Britell’s score of ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ and swoon

Lakeshore Records has released a sneak peek of the original motion picture score of If Beale Street Could Talk from Oscar-nominated composer Nicholas Britell entitled “Agape.”
Britell was nominated for an Academy Award for his score for Moonlight, which won the Best Picture Oscar in 2017. He’s previous work has included Oscar-winning films 12 Years a Slave and The Big Short and this year also has Adam McKay’s upcoming Dick Cheney biopic Vice.
“I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to work with Barry – he is such an amazing collaborator. He allowed me to really explore my inspirations and to do a lot of exciting musical experimentation,” said Britell.
“It’s not just background music. It’s a complete work unto itself,” says director Barry Jenkins.
The full soundtrack is set for release on November 9th with a vinyl version in the near future.
Annapurna Pictures will release If Beale Street Could Talk in select theaters on November 30th and expand in December.
