'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' leads Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Television nominations
Amazon’s third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which dropped less than a week ago, was the nominations leader for television at the Screen Actors Guild Awards announcement this morning. The hit show earned four nominations: Alex Borstein and Rachel Brosnahan for lead actress, Tony Shaloub for lead actor and for its entire cast.
Apple’s new series The Morning Show earned three individual noms: for Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Billy Crudup but failed to grab an Ensemble nod. Conversely, the second season of Big Little Lies found no love in the individual categories but managed an Ensemble nomination anyway.
The Kominsky Method (Netflix) is still a SAG favorite, grabbing two individual nominations (Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin) and an Ensemble nod.
Schitt’s Creek continued its Emmy love to SAG with an Ensemble nomination and one for Catherine O’Hara and Killing Eve followed the Golden Globes with a nomination for Emmy winner Jodie Comer but not for Sandra Oh.
After a total shutout at the Golden Globes, When They See Us managed a nomination for Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome in lead actor. SAG does not have a Cast or Ensemble category for Limited Series.
Robert De Niro is the 2020 recipient of the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award.
The 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live on TNT and TBS January 19, 2020. See the full list of nominations below.
