North Texas Critics awards: ‘The Green Knight’ is Best Picture, ‘The French Dispatch’ wins three

The North Texas Critics Film Critics Association has named David Lowery’s The Green Knight, starring Dev Patel, the best film of 2021.

Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story led the nomination field with seven and found a win for Rachel Zegler as Best Newcomer.

Nicolas Cage (Pig) and Kristen Stewart (Spencer) were the Best Actor and Best Actress winners, respectively, and both supporting wins went to The French Dispatch: Jeffrey Wright and Tilda Swinton. The film also won the group’s Gary Murray Award for Best Ensemble.

The North Texas Film Critics Association consists of 14 broadcast, print and online journalists from throughout the North Texas area.
