‘Soul,’ “Husavik” are Society of Composers and Lyricists winners
The winners of this year’s Society of Composers and Lyricists awards were announced in a virtual ceremony hosted by Oscar winner Michael Giacchino (Up) on Tuesday night where Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and Jon Batiste won the award for Outstanding Original Score for a Studio Film for Soul. The score is on the Oscar shortlist for a nomination.
“Husavik,” from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga won Outstanding Original Song for Visual Media for songwriters Savan Kotecha, Fat Max Gsus, Rickard Göransson. “Husavik” is on the Oscar shortlist for original song.

Another Oscar shortlisted score, Blizzard of Souls from Lolita Ritmanis, bested Emile Mosseri’s Minari for Outstanding Score for an Independent Film.
Terence Blanchard and Spike Lee were the recipients of the Spirit of Collaboration Award, given annually to a composer-director duo “for an enduring and distinguished creative partnership.”
