Southern Eastern Film Critics Association winners: ‘Nomadland,’ ‘Minari’ on top

The Southeastern Film Critics Association (SEFCA) has selected Nomadland the best film of 2020, also awarding the film best director (Chloé Zhao), best actress (Frances McDormand), adapted screenplay and best cinematography.

Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari was the group’s #2 film of the year, winning original screenplay for Chung and supporting actress for Youn Yuh-jung.

The Southeastern Film Critics Association, established in 1992, aim to represent as an impartial, organized working unit–the profession of film criticism, and to recognize the highest creative achievements in the field of motion pictures, and thereby to uphold the integrity and significance of film criticism. They are a coalition of critics from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
