The first teaser for the crime drama ‘The Irishman’ is here

“I heard you paint houses.”
Hot off the announcement that it will open the 57th New York Film Festival, Netflix has dropped the first teaser trailer for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman. In this first look we get a glimpse of the state-of-the-art visual effects employed to de-age the film’s main characters, including Robert De Niro.
The Irishman is an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran (two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro), a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century. Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa (Academy Award winner Al Pacino), and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.
The film also stars Academy Award winners Joe Pesci and Anna Paquin, Academy Award nominee Harvey Keitel, and Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, Stephen Graham, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jack Huston, Kathrine Narducci, Jesse Plemons, Domenick Lombardozzi, Paul Herman, Gary Basaraba and Marin Ireland.
It’s directed by Scorsese from a screenplay by Academy Award winner Steven Zaillian (based on the book by Charles Brandt) and produced by Scorsese, De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Irwin Winkler, Gerald Chamales, Gaston Pavlovich and Randall Emmett. Academy Award nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto lensed the film and three-time Academy Award winner and Scorsese’s longtime editor Thelma Schoonmaker cut the picture.
Netflix will release The Irishman in theaters before debuting on its streaming platform worldwide. Here is the first trailer.
