The composers for some of this season’s top contenders for the Original Score and Original Song Academy Award have earned nominations today from the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) including HMMA winner Nicholas Britell (The King), Randy Newman (Marriage Story) and Elton John (Rocketman).

On the television side nominees included Kris Bowers for When They See Us, another nomination for Succession‘s Nicholas Britell and one of two nominations for Hildur Guðnadóttir, who earned nods for Chernobyl and Joker in Feature Film.

The Hollywood Music in Media Awards honor original music (Song and Score) in all visual media from around the globe including film, TV, video games, trailers, commercial advertisements, documentaries and special programs. The HMMA nominations have historically been representative of the nominees of key awards shows that are announced months later. The HMMA main event features live music performances, celebrity presenters, tributes to music industry icons, awards for composers, songwriters and artists. The HMMA also celebrates emerging, independent artists and music influencers from around the globe for creative and innovative contributions.

Last year’s winners included Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther), Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt (“Shallow” from A Star Is Born) and Britell (Succession) – all of whom went on to win Oscars or Emmys.

The 10th Hollywood Music in Media Awards will be held on November 20th at The Avalon in Hollywood, California. Here are the nominees.
