It may be more clear after MVFF. For now my guts tell me to choose between Live by Night / Lion / Nocturnal Animals / Elle.
It’s a pretty bleak category, all things considered. Not a huge year for Adapted Screenplays.
I think “Love and Friendship” is too lightweight for AMPAS. Only possibility is in costume design.
So, it is definitely Lion atm. But after Billy Lynn’s flop we return again to free 5th slot)
