Austin Film Fest Sets ‘I Saw the Light,’ ‘Carol,’ ‘Youth’ for Oscar Glory
In its 22nd year, the Austin Film Festival’s first selection of films look to be all but bound for Oscar glory, including I Saw the Light, Carol and Youth, plus the debut of new television from Hulu from producer/director Jason Reitman (who is scheduled to attend). This first slate of 10 films precedes the full program which should arrive in mid-September.
The festival runs October 29-November 5.

In an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s seminal novel The Price of Salt, Carol follows two women from very different backgrounds who find themselves in an unexpected love affair in 1950s New York. Starring Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Sarah Paulson, Kyle Chandler, Jake Lacy and Cory Michael Smith.
