2024/2025 Film Awards Calendar

The 2024/2025 film awards calendar will be updated throughout the year as new dates for film’s biggest and best events, festivals, nominations and awards are announced.

This year’s major film festivals kicked off with SXSW during Oscars week as they have the last two years but this year will happen after. Cannes takes place May 15-25, then we head to Venice from August 28 to September 7, Telluride from August 29 to September 2, Toronto from September 5-15, New York from September 27 to October 15 and AFI from October 23-27.

The Golden Globes came back after an all-time low with a new life from CBS, who recently secured a five-year deal with the glitzy awards show after a significant ratings bump. The SAG Awards kicked off their first year as a live show exclusively on Netflix last season as the beginning of their multi-part deal. The Critics Choice Awards has lost their broadcast partner in The CW, who opted not to renew their deal despite the 2024 telecast on the network improving 14% from the record low 2023 viewership to just over 1 million viewers.

Academy Awards nominations will be announced January 17, 2025 and the 96th Oscars will be held on March 2.
