The Critics Association of Central Florida (CACF), a newly formed organization of critics based in or around the Central Florida area, revealed its first ever critics awards and has named Joel Coen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth the Best Picture of 2021. While it was the film’s only win, it did receive two runner-up mention: for Coen in Best Director and for Bruno Delbonnel in Best Cinematography.
Licorice Pizza was the Best Picture and Best Actress runner-up while Bradley Cooper won Best Supporting Actor for his cameo in the film as filmmaker Jon Peters.
Best Actor went to Andrew Garfield for tick, tick…BOOM! and Renate Reinsve won Best Actress for The Worst Person in the World. There was a tie for Best Supporting Actress between Ann Dowd for Mass and Aunjanue Ellis for King Richard.
The CACF consists of critics and journalists with a wide reach to a diverse and expansive audience whose critics include Rotten Tomatoes approved critics, as well as members of other established associations, such as the Critics Choice Association and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
