2015 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations: It’s Taylor Swift’s World, We Just Live In It

The nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were announced this morning and to no one’s surprise, Taylor Swift dominated with two videos peppered throughout nine categories. “Bad Blood” received 7 nominations for Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Visual Effects. “Blank Space” received two nominations for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.

Beyoncé was no slouch, snagging Video of the Year, Female Video, Pop Video, Choreography and Editing nominations for “7/11.” Gentlemen fared quite well too with Ed Sheeran (“Thinking Out Loud”), Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars (“Uptown  Funk”) but it’s Kendrick Lamar who leads the nomination total with 13 with his solo hit “Alright” and his collaborations with Taylor Swift (“Bad Blood”) and Flying Lotus (“Never Catch Me”).

The 2015 VMAs will air live Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV and hosted by former Video of the Year winner Miley Cyrus.
