The BET Awards nominations have been announced and Drake leads the field with 9 nominations. Beyoncé and Rihanna came in with five apiece and even Adele managed to crack the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist list. The group normally rewards black artists but in the past has given awards and nominations to Sam Smith (Best New Artist winner) and Justin Bieber.

On the film and television side, black-ish actors Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross received nominations and Beasts of No Nation, Creed and Dope are among the Best Movie nominees.
