2020 Oscars: Key Dates and Deadlines

As we enter the fall festivals and the beginning of the 2019/2020 awards season it’s important to remember that 92nd Academy Awards are going to be two weeks earlier than normal. Between the Olympics, the Super Bowl, the Grammys and national holidays, the Oscars have been thrown into a yo-yo of air dates. The 91st Academy Awards were held on February 24, 2019 with the nominations announcement on January 22.

2019/2020 Awards Calendar

The 92nd Academy Awards are going to be two weeks earlier than normal. Between the Olympics, the Super Bowl and national holidays, the Oscars have been thrown into a yo-yo of air dates. 2021 and 2022 will bounce back to late February.

The Governors Awards, usually in November, are getting a late October berth.

The Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards, which are not specific to a single awards year, have moved to June 2020. Key dates for those are as follows:
