2023 Writers Guild of America (WGA) TV nominations: ‘The Bear’ ‘Severance,’ ‘Better Call Saul’ lead

Writers Guild of America West and Writers Guild of America, East announced nominations for outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2022 today where the freshman seasons of The Bear and Severance and the final season of Better Call Saul led the way with three nominations each.

The Bear and Severance earned nominations for New Series, Comedy and Drama Series, respectively, and episodic comedy and drama, respectively. Better Call Saul’s nominations came from drama series and two episodic drama nods.

Abbott Elementary, Andor and Hacks were among the shows to receive to nominations.

Nominees for feature film will be announced January 25. Winners will be honored at the Writers Guild Awards ceremony taking place Sunday, March 5, 2023. Here are the nominees.

Erik Anderson is the founder/owner and Editor-in-Chief of AwardsWatch and has always loved all things Oscar, having watched the Academy Awards since he was in single digits; making lists, rankings and predictions throughout the show.
