2025 Producers Guild of America (PGA) Documentary Nominations: ‘Gaucho Gaucho,’ ‘Porcelain War,’ ‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ Among Films

Today, the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced the 2025 Documentary Motion Picture nominees that will advance to the final round of voting for the 36th Annual Producers Guild Awards.  Winners will be announced on Saturday, February 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza.

The films nominated for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures are listed below in alphabetical order:

Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa

Porcelain War

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story 

We Will Dance Again 

Note: These films are in the process of being vetted for individual producer eligibility.

Last year, producers Lauren Domino, Matthew Heineman and Joedan Okun were honored with the award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Picture for American Symphony, which intimately followed award-winning musician Jon Batiste’s journey in composing a symphony while his wife underwent cancer treatment.

Last month, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story won the Critics Choice Award for Best Documentary in a tie with Will & Harper. No Other Land won the IDA Award as well as critics prizes from the National Board of Review, New York Film Critics Circle and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.

Nominees for Sports, Children’s and Short Form Television Programs will be announced this Friday, December 13. The nominees for Theatrical Motion Pictures, Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Television Series/Specials, and Televised/Streamed Motion Pictures will be announced on Friday, January 10.

The Producers Guild Awards honors excellence in motion picture, television and emerging media productions, as well as the most notable names in the industry shaping the producing profession.  Honorees this year include Chris Meledandri (David O. Selznick Achievement Award) and Dana Walden (Milestone Award).
