30th Art Directors Guild (ADG) Awards: ‘Frankenstein,’ One Battle After Another,’ ‘Severance’ and More

The 30th Annual Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) awards, honoring excellence in production design have given their top prizes to Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Severance and more.
In feature film, where there are three different categories, Frankenstein won period film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps won fantasy film and One Battle After Another won contemporary film. Frankenstein and One Battle After Another are both up for the production design Oscar alongside ADG nominees Hamnet, Marty Supreme and Sinners.
In television, Severance, Mid-Century Modern and The Studio topped the awards.
Earlier this month, the Set Decorators Society of America (SDSA) awarded Frankenstein and Hamnet, with One Battle After Another being their overall ‘Best Picture winner. Frankenstein has triumphed at both Critics Choice and BAFTA for production design.
The guild presented a wealth of special honors: its Lifetime Achievement Awards to production designer and director Bo Welch; set designer and art director Jann Engel; illustrator, storyboard artist and production designer Tom Southwell; and scenic artist Stephen McNally; Laura Friedman received the ADG President’s Award; and Jon M.
