2023 Chicago Film Critics Association Awards: ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ ‘Oppenheimer,’ ‘May December’ Top Winners
The Chicago Film Critics Association (CFCA) today announces their 2023 award winners. Claiming the organization’s top honor as Best Picture of the year was KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON, directed by Martin Scorsese.
The film also earned awards for Best Adapted Screenplay (Eric Roth & Martin Scorsese) and Best Original Score (Robbie Robertson). Also notching three honors each were OPPENHEIMER for Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Cinematography (Hoyte Van Hoytema) and Best Editing (Jennifer Lame); and MAY DECEMBER for Best Original Screenplay (Samy Burch) and a double win for Charles Melton (Best Supporting Actor and Most Promising Performer).
Paul Giamatti was named Best Actor for THE HOLDOVERS, Emma Stone named Best Actress for POOR THINGS; Best Documentary went to KOKOMO CITY while THE ZONE OF INTEREST was named Best Foreign Language Film.
Other highlights among the winners this year include: THE BOY AND THE HERON named Best Animated Feature; Celine Song named recipient of the Milos Stehlik Breakthrough Filmmaker Award (PAST LIVES); and Da’Vine Joy Randolph named Best Supporting Actress for THE HOLDOVERS.
