29th Online Film and Television Association Awards: ‘Severance,’ ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘The Studio,’ ‘The Penguin’ Lead TV Nominations

The nominations for the 29th Annual Online Film and Television Association (OFTA) Television Awards have been announced.

Leading the nomination count for the 2024-2025 television season, are four programs, each with twenty-one nominations apiece. Two nominees for Best Drama Series: Severance and The White Lotus. One, The Studio, is nominated for Best Comedy Series and the other is a nominee for Best Limited or Anthology Series: The Penguin. The Last of Us comes in fifth with 19 nominations while Andor is sixth with 16 and The Bear and Only Murders in the Building were next with 13 each.

Competing against Andor, The Last of Us, Severance, The Studio, and The White Lotus for Best Drama series are Paradise (3), The Pitt (11), and Slow Horses (6).

In Best Comedy Series, The Bear and Only Murders in the Building are nominated alongside Abbott Elementary (10), Hacks (11), Shrinking (6), and What We Do in the Shadows (6).

Nominated in the limited or anthology series category alongside The Penguin this year are Adolescence (12), Black Mirror (10), Disclaimer (9), Dying for Sex (10), Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (8), and Presumed Innocent (9).

The Best Motion Picture nominees are Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (1), The Gorge (1), Mountainhead (1), Nonnas (1), and Rebel Ridge (2).

The winners will be announced on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Here is the complete list of nominations.

Erik Anderson

Erik Anderson is the founder/owner and Editor-in-Chief of AwardsWatch and has always loved all things Oscar, having watched the Academy Awards since he was in single digits; making lists, rankings and predictions throughout the show. This led him down the path to obsessing about awards. Much later, he found himself in film school and the film forums of GoldDerby, and then migrated over to the former Oscarwatch (now AwardsDaily), before breaking off to create AwardsWatch in 2013.

He is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic, accredited by the Cannes Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and more, is a member of the International Cinephile Society (ICS), The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics (GALECA), Critics Choice Association (CCA), San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle (SFBAFCC) and the International Press Academy. Among his many achieved goals with AwardsWatch, he has given a platform to underrepresented writers and critics and supplied them with access to film festivals and the industry and calls the Bay Area his home where he lives with his husband and son.
