Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) Nominations: ‘Sinners’ Leads with Record-Tying 14

The Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) has announced nominations for the 2025 SFCS Awards, honoring the year’s best in film. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners ties the all-time record for most nominations in a single year with 14, matching 2022’s Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Close behind with 12 nominations is Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, with Pacific Northwest film Train Dreams, directed by Clint Bentley, following with eight nominations.
Other films earning multiple nominations include Frankenstein and Marty Supreme (six), Hamnet (five), Weapons (four) and F1: The Movie (three).
As previously announced, the Seattle Film Critics Society recognizes six films this year for Best Pacific Northwest Feature Film. In addition Train Dreams and WTO/99, this year’s nominees include documentaries Not One Drop of Blood and Wolf Land (Director’s Cut) and narrative features To Kill a Wolf and Twinless, New this year, the SFCS has added a second Pacific Northwest Award recognizing short films. This year’s inaugural nominees include Charlotte, 1994; A Fateful Weekend; Shelly’s Leg; Songs of Black Folk; and Style: A Seattle Basketball Story.
Winners of the 2025 Seattle Film Critics Society Awards will be announced Monday, December 15, 2025, across the Seattle Film Critics Society’s various social media platforms.
