2026 Golden Globe Nomination Predictions – Television: Expect Emmy Favorites ‘The Pitt,’ ‘The Studio’ Plus New Fare ‘Pluribus’ and More

With the new year right around the corner, the only thing between all of us and the new year – excluding any holidays – is more winter award season nominations. On December 8, the Golden Globes will unveil their annual nominations across film and television. With so many TV shows this year, both new and returning, it’s time to take a peak at what could get nominated on Monday.
HBO Max’s The Pitt, fresh off multiple Emmy wins including Outstanding Drama Series, will be a huge contender across the board for nominations. It will surely be nominated in Best Television Series – Drama, but the series will likely also appear in both Outstanding Lead Actor – Drama and Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie for Emmy winners Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa. Though Severance didn’t win Outstanding Drama at the Emmys, you can count on its presence at the Golden Globes. Britt Lower will surely be nominated coming off her Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama, and her co-stars Adam Scott, John Turturro, and Emmy winner Tramell Tillman have a high probability of joining her on nomination morning. The Morning Show will likely see several acting nominations for its fourth outing, including both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
The Studio was a huge winner at the Emmys this year, breaking the record for most wins by a comedy series for a single season. The same performers nominated for Emmys will likely show up on the Golden Globes TV nominations, including winner Seth Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn and Catherine O’Hara. The Globes have a longstanding tradition of nominating Only Murders in the Building, so it can be expected that the series will turn up again for its latest season. Other returning shows include Nobody Wants This and Abbott Elementary, while newcomers The Paper and The Chair Company both have a good shot at gaining traction with the HFPA.
Limited Series categories will surely include the likes of Dying for Sex and Adolescence, which both came out earlier this year and qualified for the Emmys, and will also likely see shows that premiered after the eligibility period like The Beast in Me, All Her Fault, and Black Rabbit. Death by Lightning, one of Netflix’s newest, will also be one to look out for come nomination morning, as its lead, Michael Shannon, could grab a nom. The big Emmy winner, Adolescence, will surely get nominations for multiple performers in the cast, so it will be a huge contender this year.
Sarah Jessica Parker will be the sixth recipient of the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award, to be presented in a ceremony televised on CBS Thursday, January 8, 2026, three days before the 83rd annual Golden Globes are held on January 11. Parker has received four Golden Globes, all as lead comedy actress for Sex and the City. The show also won three consecutive Globes as best comedy series.
Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall will announce nominees for the 83rd Annual Golden Globes Monday, December 8, 2025. All 28 categories will be unveiled at 8:15 a.m. ET/5:15 a.m. PT on CBSNews.com, with 11 exclusive categories revealed at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT only on CBS Mornings.
