Oscars: 68 Original Songs, 135 Original Scores are Eligible for the 98th Academy Awards

68 original songs and 135 original scores have secured eligibility for the 98th Academy Awards, a significant reduction from previous years, the lowest song total in 14 years and the lowest score total in a decade.
After much online debate, and actual lawyers on the case to determine eligibility, the scores for The Testament of Ann Lee, Hamnet, Wicked: For Good have officially been deemed eligible. Scores that were not eligible include After the Hunt, Blue Moon, Ella McCay, KPop Demon Hunters and The Phoenician Scheme.
But there’s still one more hurdle to overcome before Oscar voting and that the Oscar shortlists that kick off voting on Monday, December 8 through December 12. Shortlists in those and 10 more categories will be revealed on December 16.
In my November predictions I have a few titles that, after today’s announcement, will not be making the December lists when they come out next week.
