Australian Academy Award Winners (AACTA): ‘One Battle After Another,’ ‘Bring Her Back’ Lead

The Australian Academy Awards (AACTA) have been announced and One Battle After Another has won the international award for Best Film, with Paul Thomas Anderson as Best Director.
Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme) bested Aussies Russell Crowe, Joel Edgerton and Hugh Jackman for Best Actor, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio. Aussies Rose Byrne and Jacob Elordi won Best Actress and Supporting Actor, respectively, for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and Frankenstein. Amy Madigan won over her only Oscar competition in the supporting actress category (Elle Fanning) for Weapons.
For international television, the winners were Adolescence, The Studio, Gary Oldman and Sarah Snook.
Locally, the hit horror film Bring Her Back dominated the film side with 10 wins including Best Film, Directing and Lead Actress for Sally Hawkins, while for television, the Jacob Elordi-starring The Narrow Road to the Deep North led with seven wins.
