Laurie Metcalf on Her Work in the First Season of ‘Big Mistakes’ and the Final Season of ‘Hacks’ [VIDEO INTERVIEW]
Still arguably best known as a longtime household name for playing “Aunt Jackie” on Roseanne and The Conners, seasoned actress Laurie Metcalf is having a rather incomparable resurgence in her career lately, including her new Tony Award win for Death of a Salesman and for her memorable acting performances in a supporting role on Big Mistakes and guest starring again as fan-favorite character “Weed” in the final season of Hacks.
Sitting down with Metcalf this past week, we discussed the inner-workings of how she was able to ultimately pull off that laugh-out-loud Hacks scene, the joys she gets out of her Broadway work over television productions and the “dream” job of being cast as “Linda” alongside beloved Schitt’s Creek actor/creator Dan Levy on Big Mistakes.
Beyond her career, Metcalf also took a moment to reveal how she enjoys spending her days off and how acting remains her life’s passion after all of these years.
Laurie Metcalf is Emmy-eligible in the categories of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Big Mistakes, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Monster: The Ed Gein Story and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks.
