Fox Searchlight Pushes ‘Demolition’ to 2016

Fox Searchlight announced today on Twitter that the Jean-Marc Vallée film Demolition, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts will be released April 8, 2016. That obviously takes it out of contention for the 2015 year Oscars and with it Gyllenhaal and Watts’s chances.
But, both have other projects that can now feel the full push from their respective studios. Gyllenhaal has the boxing drama Southpaw from The Weinstein Company coming out July 24th and Watts has the trans comedy/drama About Ray (formerly titled Three Generations) also from The Weinstein Company coming in September.
