NEW ‘Fences’ trailer is an acting showcase for Denzel Washington and Viola Davis

A new trailer for Fences debuted today, with more scenes than the first one, and with each new look, the Oscar potential for stars Denzel Washington (who also directs) and Viola Davis look more and more secure. We also get more of Jovan Adepo (The Leftovers), who plays Troy (Washington) and Rose’s (Davis) son Cory.

The film stars Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney. The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Denzel Washington and Todd Black.[/box]
The film comes with a heavy pedigree and expectation. The 1987 play it’s based on won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play. The 2010 stage version, for which Washington and Davis won Tony Awards for, also won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Play and Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.
Fences lands in theaters on Christmas Day from Paramount Pictures.
