Elle Fanning and Nicole welcome the punk revolution in trailer for ‘How to Talk to Girls at Parties’
From director John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Shortbus) comes a sci-fi punk fantasy based on the Neil Gaiman short story about an alien named Zan (Elle Fanning) who comes to Earth to complete a mysterious rite of passage and gets romanced by a punk-obsessed teen, Enn (played by Tony winner Alex Sharp) in 1977 London in the process. Nicole Kidman plays Zan’s alien leader in this punk vs aliens coming of age extravaganza.
The film, Mitchell’s first since 2010’s Rabbit Hole (which earned Kidman a Best Actress nomination), debuted at Cannes last year and co-stars Ruth Wilson and Matt Lucas and features costumes designed by three-time Oscar winner Sandy Powell (The Velvet Goldmine).
How to Talk to Girls at Parties can next be seen at the San Francisco International Film Festival and then A24 will release it in theaters May 18th. Here is the first trailer and poster.
