Taron Egerton takes off in first teaser for Elton John biopic ‘Rocketman’

Detailing the early, breakthrough years of Elton John’s career, Taron Egerton (The Kingsman series) plays the flamboyant multi-Grammy winning chart-topper for director Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle). Fletcher is no stranger to the bisexual musical biopic, having recently finished the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody starring Rami Malek, taking over the reins from Bryan Singer who was fired from the set.
In the film, Egerton sings Elton John’s songs himself. Matthew Vaughn and his Marv Films is producing with Elton John and his Rocket Pictures partner David Furnish from a script by Lee Hall.
Rocketman also stars Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Gemma Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard and will be released by Paramount Pictures on May 31, 2019.
