Kansas City Film Critics Circle (KCFCC) winners: ‘Roma,’ ‘The Favourite’ tie for Best Picture
The Kansas City Film Critics Circle (KCFCC) is the second oldest critics group in the US, just behind New York. For their 53rd awards, the group found itself with a tie for its Best Picture prize – ROMA and The Favourite, the latter of which also won Best Actress for Olivia Colman and Best Original Screenplay.
This is the fourth tie for Best Film in the history of the KCFCC. Previous ties were 1992 (The Player, Unforgiven), 1986 (The Mission, Salvador) and 1970 (Patton, Five Easy Pieces).
Two other ties happened – in Best Actor (for Christian Bale in Vice and Ethan Hawke in First Reformed) and Animated Film where Incredibles 2 and Isle of Dogs tied for runner-up.
Amy Adams earned her first Supporting Actress win of the season for her work in the Dick Cheney biopic Vice, playing Lynne Cheney.
