Renée Zellweger soars over the rainbow in new trailer for ‘Judy’

Roadside Attractions and LD Entertainment have released the official trailer for Judy, starring Academy Award winner Renée Zellweger as the legendary actress and entertainer Judy Garland.
The film takes place in the Winter of 1968 as showbiz legend and two-time Oscar-nominee Judy Garland, finding her finances seriously depleted (“Are you saying I have to leave my children if I want to make enough money to be with my children?” she asks), arrives in London to perform a five-week sold-out run at The Talk of the Town. It is 30 years since she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz, but if her voice has weakened, its dramatic intensity has only grown. As she prepares for the show, battles with management, charms musicians and reminisces with friends and adoring fans, her wit and warmth shine through. Even her dreams of love seem undimmed as she embarks on a whirlwind romance with Mickey Deans, her soon-to-be fifth husband. Featuring some of her best-known songs, the film celebrates the voice, the capacity for love, and the sheer pizzazz of “the world’s greatest entertainer.”
Judy is directed by Rupert Goold and written by Tom Edge, based on the stage play “End of the Rainbow” by Peter Quilter. It co-stars Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose), Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story), Rufus Sewell (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and Michael Gambon (Harry Potter).
Roadside Attractions and LD Entertainment will release Judy in theaters September 27, 2019.
