How Judith Light Psychs Us Out in ‘The Terror: Devil in Silver’ and the Secret to Her Long-lasting Career [VIDEO INTERVIEW]
Judith Light has consistently graced the big and small screen over the past several decades. From playing Angela Bower on the Who’s The Boss? sitcom to her numerous Broadway roles, as well as film and television like Ugly Betty, Transparent, The Menu, her Emmy-winning turn on Poker Face, and very recently as a guest star on the Hulu series All’s Fair, Light continues to showcase a unique and wide variety of character performances.
Now, the Emmy and Tony winner is turning heads in The Terror: Devil in Silver, playing Dorry, a longtime resident of a psychiatric hospital, whose clever nature is often overlooked and discredited, due to her involuntary circumstances. Now on AMC+ and Shudder, Light proves the acting depths she is willing to explore, while providing viewers with a truly memorable on-screen storytelling.
During our new conversation, we discussed what has kept longevity within Light’s long acting career, the rise of horror titles being recognized during awards season, the importance of portraying mental health on-screen in today’s world, how she prepared to embody “Dorry” for the screen and reveals what she would tell her new television character, if only she could.
