Ben Platt goes full Tracy Flick in ‘The Politician’ trailer

“I want that trophy”
Netflix has dropped the first trailer for The Politician, executive producer Ryan Murphy’s first show for the streaming network, and it’s absolutely batshit crazy. In the best way possible. Think Glee meets Election with even a nod to Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
Payton Hobart (Tony winner Ben Platt, channeling Tracy Flick and Rachel Berry) has always known that he’s going to be president. First he’ll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape: high school.
The cast includes Oscar and Emmy winners Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Lange, David Corenswet, January Jones, Dylan McDermott, Zoey Deutch, Julia Schlaepfer, Rahne Jones and will feature guest appearances by Bette Midler and Judith Light.
The Politician enters the race on September 27th. Here is your first look.
