The Razzies weren’t going to let coronavirus ruin their yearly ‘worst of’ list for films and today announced that Universal’s Cats took home the Worst Picture prize at the 40th Golden Raspberry Awards. Cleverly, the Razzies opted for a video release – ‘The Lock-Down Edition” – (see below) announcing their winners.
Along with Worst Picture, Cats also ‘won’ for Worst Supporting Actor (James Corden) and Worst Supporting Actress (Rebel Wilson), as well as awards for Worst Screenplay and Worst Director. The cat-astrophe also won the Worst Screen Combo award for “Any Two Half-Feline/Half-Human Hairballs.” Rambo: Last Blood also managed to win multiple awards, while the big acting gongs went to John Travolta – Worst Actor for The Fanatic and Trading Paint – and Hilary Duff for the morbid and bizarre The Haunting of Sharon Tate.
Eddie Murphy won the Razzie Redeemer Award, which honors a past Razzie winner whose work and career is on the upswing, for Netflix’s Dolemite Is My Name.
