Searchlight Pictures has revealed the first full trailer for Nomadland, which just earned the first top critics wins of the season on Sunday from the Boston Film Critics Society, winning Best Film and Best Director for Chloé Zhao.
Following the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (two-time Academy Award winner Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad. The third feature film from director Chloé Zhao, Nomadland also stars Academy Award nominee David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck) and features real nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells as Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West.
Nomadland is currently in a limited run release in New York and Los Angeles and will go wide on February 19, 2021 from Searchlight Pictures.
