Trailer: ‘The Card Counter’ deals its hand this Fall

Focus Features today released the trailer for Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter, starring Oscar Isaac. The film is set to world premiere at the Venice Film Festival before hitting U.S. theaters on September 10.
Told with Schrader’s trademark cinematic intensity, the revenge thriller tells the story of an ex-military interrogator (Isaac) turned gambler haunted by the ghosts of his past decisions and who helps a young gambler revenge against a military colonel. The film also stars Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan and Willem Dafoe. It is written and directed by Schrader, produced by Braxton Pope, Lauren Mann and David Wulf and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, William Olsson, Lee Broda, Ruben Islas and Stanley Preschutti.
