Hawaii Film Critics winners: ‘Last Night in Soho’ takes Best Picture, Troy Kotsur and Marlee Matlin win supporting awards
The Hawaii Film Critics Society (HFCS) revealed their winner for the best in film for 2021 and Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho was named Best Picture. The film had earned nine nominations from the group and also won Best Sound, Best Film Editing and Best Horror Film.
Two films that earned 10 nods: Belfast and The Power of the Dog, ended up with one and zero wins, respectively, while Dune, another 10-time nominee won for its art direction, cinematography, costume design and as Best Sci-Fi Film. Not to be too outshined, CODA, which had earned eight nominations, won three big ones: Supporting Actor (Troy Kotsur), Supporting Actress (Marlee Matlin) and Adapted Screenplay.
