Black Panther, the highest grossing film of the year and Marvel’s top-grossing domestic film, is the African-American Film Critics Association’s Best Film of 2018.
The comic book juggernaut also earned Best Director kudos for Ryan Coogler and Best Song for “All the Stars.’
John David Washington was named Best Actor for BlacKkKlansman and the film’s writers – Charlie Wachtel & David Rabinowitz and Kevin Willmott & Spike Lee – landed the Best Screenplay prize.
Other multiple winners included If Beale Street Could Talk (Supporting Actress – Regina King, Independent Film) and The Hate U Give (Supporting Actor – Russell Hornsby, Breakout Performance – Amandla Stenberg).
Queen Sugar and Insecure were the series winners for television.
