The Traveling Picture Show Company and GiGi Films announced today that Paul Schneider (Lars and the Real Girl, “Tales from the Loop”), Shantel VanSanten (“The Boys,” “For All Mankind”), Kevin Corrigan (True Romance, The Departed, King of Staten Island) and Moises Arias (Monos, The King of Staten Island) have signed on to round out the cast of American Murderer.  They join previously announced Tom Pelphrey, Ryan Phillippe, Idina Menzel and Jacki Weaver.  Kevin Matusow and Carissa Buffel are producing for The Traveling Picture Show Company alongside Gia Walsh and Kara Baker under the GiGi Films banner. Principal photography has commenced in Salt Lake City, following Utah state and SAG/AFTRA Covid-19 protocols.

Written and directed by Award-winning AFI alumnus Matthew Gentile, American Murderer is based on the true story of Jason Derek Brown — a charismatic con man turned party king who bankrolls his luxurious lifestyle through a series of scams.  When his funds run low and his past catches up with him, he plots his most elaborate scheme yet and, in the process, becomes the FBI’s most unlikely — and elusive — top ten fugitive.

Schneider currently stars on Amazon’s “Tales from the Loop,” and is known for his roles on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” and Warner Bros. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Other notable film credits include Bright Star and MGM’s Lars and the Real Girl.

VanSanten was recently in Amazon’s meteoric hit “The Boys,” and currently stars in Apple TV’s “For All Mankind,” which was just picked up for a third season ahead of the season two launch in February. Other credits include the CW’s “One Tree Hill,” and the USA drama series “Shooter.”

Corrigan’s notable film appearances include: Goodfellas, The Departed, Superbad, Pineapple Express, and most recently Universal Pictures’ The King of Staten Island.

Arias has starred in films such as Nacho Libre, Despicable Me 2, Ender’s Game, The Kings of Summer, Five Feet Apart, Monos, and The King of Staten Island.

TPSC recently wrapped filming on the comedy Unplugging, which stars Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria and two-time Emmy-nominated actor Matt Walsh, and produced Bryan Bertino’s The Dark and the Wicked, which is currently available on digital after releasing last month, and is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.  GiGi Films’ latest film Zola, starring Taylour Paige and Riley Keough, written by Janicza Bravo and Jeremy O. Harris and directed by Bravo, premiered at Sundance this past year and is being released by A24.

American Murderer is financed by Productivity Media, the company behind such indie darlings as the recently released Black Bear, starring Aubrey Plaza, Christopher Abbott & Sarah Gadon, Born to be Blue, starring Ethan Hawke, The Little Hours, with Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza & John C. Reilly as well as Stockholm, starring Hawke, Mark Strong & Noomi Rapace. Productivity Media is currently in post-production on Rodrigo Garcia’s Four Good Days, starring Mila Kunis & Glenn Close as well as Percy vs Goliath, starring Christopher Walken & Christina Ricci and TPSC’s Unplugging, starring Eva Longoria & Matt Walsh.

Schneider is repped by CAA and Finely Management. VanSanten is repped by ICM Partners and Power Entertainment Group. Corrigan is repped by A3 Artists Agency and Authentic Talent and Literary Management. Arias is repped by Kazarian/Measures/Ruskin & Associates and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light LLP.
