Now that the haze of champagne has worn off, it’s time to get back to business. It’s guilds time! Kicking off the industry’s parade of branch-specific awards today was the American Cinema Editors guild, who released their nominations in four categories today for the award with the cutest name of the season, the ACE Eddie Award. The most important ones are obviously those for Dramatic and Comedy/Musical Feature Film. There were no real surprises there, except perhaps the fact that they managed to squeeze in six nominations in the former, and shunned Selma. Instead, we got American Sniper, the season’s ultra-late release that might start its surge right on time. Which of these eleven films will make it into the final five at Oscar? Come discuss it with us in our forums.
