Australian Academy (AACTA) International Awards nominations: ‘Nomadland,’ ‘Schitt’s Creek’ lead

Minari, Mank and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom may have led the Australian Academy (AACTA) International Awards longlists, but Nomadland outpaced them all when the actual nominations came in. Chloé Zhao’s film earned six nominations, one in every film category except Best Actor.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 was next with 5 and then Mank, The Father and Promising Young Woman with four. Ammonite and Da 5 Bloods, which had earned five longlist mentions, only managed one apiece here.

In television, Schitt’s Creek was the leader with three, one in each of the categories for which it was eligible: Best Comedy Series, Best Actor in a Series (Daniel Levy) and Best Actress in a Series (Catherine O’Hara). Drama and Comedy acting is combined at AACTA and there are no supporting slots.

Here is the full list of nominations. Winners will be announced on March 7.
