BAFTA TV nominations: ‘Small Axe’ leads with 15, ‘The Crown’ leading ladies snubbed
Steve McQueen’s Small Axe anthology (Amazon and BBC) leads the nominations at the 2021 British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ (BAFTA) Television and Craft Awards with an impressive 15 nods.
Next up was Netflix’s The Crown, with 10 nominations, with baffling snubs for Olivia Colman, Gillian Anderson and Emma Corrin. BBC and HBO’s I May Destroy You followed with eight. BBC and Hulu’s Normal People with seven nominations, and Netflix’s Sex Education earned six, where Anderson was snubbed again.
The BAFTA Television Awards ceremony takes place June 6 on BBC One, and the Craft Awards will be streamed on BAFTA’s social channels on May 24.
