The winners of the 13th annual Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA) were announced on Saturday where Barbie was the big winner, taking Best Film in the international awards section of the ceremony. Margot Robbie won Best Lead Actress and was honored for her outstanding career with the AACTA Trailblazer Award. The ceremony was hosted by Rebel Wilson and held at HOTA (Home of the Arts) in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

In another Barbie win, Ryan Gosling was named Best Supporting Actor, while Cillian Murphy won Best Actor for Oppenheimer, Vanessa Kirby won Best Supporting Actress for Napoleon and Best Direction and Best Screenplay went to Oppenheimer and Poor Things, respectively.

For the international television awards it was all Succession and The Bear, each winning Best Drama and Comedy with Jeremy Allen White and Sarah Snook taking the acting prizes.

In the homegrown Australia-based section of the AACTAs The New Boy and Talk to Me dominated the wins with The New Boy, which stars AACTA nominee Cate Blanchett, taking Best Lead Actor for Aswan Reid, Best Supporting Actress for Deborah Mailman as well as Best Cinematography and Best Production Design. A24’s Talk to Me won a huge eight AACTAs, including Best Film, Best Direction and Screenplay for Danny Philippou and Michael Philippo, and Best Lead Actress for Sophie Wilde.
