After today, there are only seven hopefuls left for winning the Oscar for Best Makeup & Hairstyling, as the shortlist in this category was announced today. Known for their sometimes idiosyncratic (but valid) choices, not deterred by what’s popular in the Oscar race at large, the branch didn’t fail again this year, singling out films like Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Bad Grandpa. Biggest snubs (or should we say: wigs snatched), at first glance? Probably Rush and Lee Daniels’ The Butler.
