Tomorrow marks the 126th year anniversary of the infamous 1892 axe murder of the Borden family in Fall River, Massachusetts. Based on the true story, Academy Award® nominee Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry, HBO’s “Big Love”) stars as Lizzie Borden, the notorious woman at the heart of one of the most enduring mysteries in American history. After a lifetime of loneliness, Lizzie finds a kindred spirit in housemaid Bridget Sullivan (César winner Kristen Stewart, The Clouds of Sils Maria) and their secret intimacy sparks an unthinkable act.
LIZZIE is directed by Craig William Macneill from a screenplay by Bryce Kass. It co-stars Jamey Sheridan, Fiona Shaw, Kim Dickens, Denis O’Hare and Jeff Perry.
Saban Films and Roadside Attractions will release LIZZIE in theaters September 14, 2018.
