Outlaw King reunites Chris Pine and his Hell or High Water director David Mackenzie to tell the story of Robert the Bruce, who transformed from defeated nobleman to outlaw hero during the oppressive occupation of medieval Scotland by Edward I of England.
Despite grave consequences, Robert seizes the Scottish crown and rallies an impassioned group of men to fight back against the mighty army of the tyrannical King and his volatile son, the Prince of Wales.
Outlaw King is the Opening Night film of the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival, where it will world premiere on September 6, 2018.
Mackenzie directs from a screenplay by Bash Doran and James MacInnes and himself (with additional writing by Mark Bomback and David Harrower) and also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh, Billy Howle, Tony Curran, Stephen Dillane, James Cosmo, and Sam Spruell.
Netflix will release Outlaw King in select theaters on November 9, 2018 and on the streamer.
