A Wrinkle in Time (Disney)

A Star Is Born adds another guild to its collection with costume designers nominating the film for Excellence in Contemporary Film. It will go up against Crazy Rich Asians, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Ocean’s 8 and Widows.

Sandy Powell is a double nominee, competing against herself, with The Favourite and Mary Poppins Returns in Period Film. Although, how Mary Poppins Returns is a period film and not a fantasy film – at least in terms of content – is a mystery.

On the television side, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, GLOW and Star Trek: Discovery were among the nominees.

As previously announced, Ryan Murphy will be the 21st CDGA’s Distinguished Collaborator honoree.

Winners will be announced on February 19 in Beverly Hills.
