Winners for the 24th Costume Designers Guild (CDG) awards were announced tonight at a live, in-person ceremony held at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica where Dune, Cruella, Emily in Paris and Saturday Night Live were among the winners.

Ruth E. Carter won her second career CDG award, for her contemporary costuming of Coming 2 America, and Jenny Beavan won her second, for her period work in Cruella. Dune and Cruella are both Oscar-nominated this year for costume design. Television awards went to The Great, Emily in Paris, The Book of Boba Fett and Saturday Night Live.

“Throughout the pandemic, we’ve been reminded how important costume design is, not only to entertain — but to inspire. We are thrilled to celebrate in person this year, with safety as our priority. We want to recognize our nominees and all of their phenomenal work as we take the CDGA into a new direction,” said Salvador Perez, President of the Costume Designers Guild, IATSE Local 892.

Sharen Davis received the Career Achievement Award, presented by Academy Award nominee Aunjanue Ellis, two-time Oscar nominee Andrew Garfield received the Spotlight Award from his tick, tick. BOOM! co-star Judith Light and Amy Pascal & Rachel O’Connor will be honored with the Distinguished Collaborators Award and presented by Academy Award winner Laura Dern. 8-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close inducted the late Anthony Powell into the CDG Hall of Fame.

The show is hosted by Casey Wilson and Andrew Rannells and is sponsored by Westfield Century City and produced by NVE Experience Agency.
