Elliot Page, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, Sarah Paulson, Schitt’s Creek, The Prom and Putting On were top winners at this year’s Queerties, the only awards show that that exclusively awards film, television, social influence and more in the LGBTQ+ community, that included a performance by Bright Light Bright Light. Other winners include Shangela, Trixie Mattel, Laverne Cox, the documentary Disclosure, Instagram star Joaquín Bondoni and TikTok sensation Josh Helfgott, along with so much more. The show is now available to view for free On-Demand on Revry.

The Queerties celebrate the best in LGBTQ entertainment and activism in traditional categories like Best Performance and Best Film but also with kitschy ones like Badass those individuals who stood up for themselves and others and Girl Bye for those who stood for tearing down rights and humanity.

Hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 Miss Congeniality winner Heidi N. Closet and Queerty Editor-in-Chief Dan Tracer, this year, Q.Digital and Lexus presented Angelica Ross with the Groundbreaker Award and Billy Eichner received the MVP Award.

Erik Anderson

Erik Anderson is the founder/owner and Editor-in-Chief of AwardsWatch and has always loved all things Oscar, having watched the Academy Awards since he was in single digits; making lists, rankings and predictions throughout the show. This led him down the path to obsessing about awards. Much later, he found himself in film school and the film forums of GoldDerby, and then migrated over to the former Oscarwatch (now AwardsDaily), before breaking off to create AwardsWatch in 2013. He is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic, accredited by the Cannes Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and more, is a member of the International Cinephile Society (ICS), The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics (GALECA), Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) and the International Press Academy. Among his many achieved goals with AwardsWatch, he has given a platform to underrepresented writers and critics and supplied them with access to film festivals and the industry and calls the Bay Area his home where he lives with his husband and son.
